#2 The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
See the discussion above about other bands splitting votes amongst contenders. This one is a bit aggregious to me seeing as this album was a reaction to the Beattles Sgt. Pepper album. And, at least in my eyes, did not surpass Sgt. Pepper. Again, a great album, but. The other thing about this album is that it really is not representative of everything that I think of when I think of the Beach Boys. The most recognizable songs are 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' and 'Sloop John B'. I good album and innovative, but again, not this high on MY list.
