A collection of short stories which occur after the 1995 Kobe earthquake. The cetral theme is that of people who feel incompete or with "nothing inside". The story telling has an elegant simplicity - which seems like a stereotypical thing to say abot a work of Japanese art. The characters are mostly young urban professional who have either missed out on or neglected developing personal relationships. Some find happiness while other find temporary solice. Kind of a relaxing summer read that satisfies without putting on too many demands.
